Serra Luma

Mountain of Light

One of the Northern Rivers’ most private mountain estates, located between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. Thoughtfully designed.
Remarkably peaceful.
Limitlessly inspiring.

“A place that instantly slows the pace of life and expands your sense of what is possible.”

The Story

There comes a point where success is no longer measured by what you can acquire, but by how you choose to live.

Serra Luma means Mountain of Light.

The drive begins beneath a canopy of trees, Chowan Creek flowing quietly beside the road. You pass through the gates, cross the bridge and begin the gentle climb. With every turn, the world asks a little less of you.

Then the ridgeline appears.

The valley opens.

And the world falls quietly away.

The birds are louder than the traffic you left behind.

A warm breeze carries the scent of sunlit timber through the open pavilion.

For a moment, there is nothing to do. Nowhere to be. Nothing demanding your attention.

Only light.

Only space.

Only the quiet recognition that life can be lived differently.

For some, Serra Luma will become a family estate. For others, a place to create, restore, gather or simply breathe again.

Whatever chapter comes next, it begins with a single turn through the gates.

Some places are owned.
Others are stewarded.

The Architecture

Architecture in Conversation with the Landscape

Serra Luma is a Classic Australian Bush Pavilion, framed entirely in native Australian hardwood timber and conceived not to command the landscape, but to listen to it.

Oriented to the northern sun, the residence gathers warmth through the cooler months and breathes with the valley through summer. Deep verandahs wrap the pavilion, softening the threshold between timber floor and forest floor, while high windows and louvres let the air move as it always has across this ridge.

The result is less a house than a quiet act of placemaking, a home that belongs to its setting as completely as the flooded gums and the creek below. This is a timeless Australian Bush Pavilion designed not merely to be admired, but to be lived in.

The Estate

Architecture, land and water across 134 living acres.

A timber pavilion residence, a private guest studio, native forest, open pasture and five hundred metres of creek, explored in full across the estate.

The best of Northern Rivers living.

Set within the Northern Rivers Hinterland and surrounded by some of Australia's most celebrated natural landscapes, from the village of Uki and the sacred peak of Wollumbin (Mt Warning) to Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, Serra Luma offers remarkable privacy with effortless access to the wider region.
